Duties & Responsibilities:
First and
foremost, a CSR provides all aspects of customer service for a
garbage company. The vast majority of all customer contact is
via a telephone call, but may come from an e-mail, voice mail,
and/or in-person. All customer
service is recorded into B&B Leasing’s computer system.
In the
most basic definition, a CSR is talking to a customer on the phone,
determining what service is needed, and entering the service into
the computer.
Customer
service includes: Opening new garbage accounts; closing existing
accounts; processing customer moves (from one location within our
service area to another); handling missed pick ups, missed equipment
deliveries, will calls, and special pickups; managing customer
complaints and problems; answering billing inquires and soliciting
payments on overdue accounts; reopening accounts closed for failure
to pay; changing service levels (increases/decreases in service
provided); taking credit card payments; and maintaining customer
information (such as phone numbers and billing addresses).
All customer
service activities are entered into the computer system, without
exception.
The telephone
and computer are the primary tools of the CSR position; both are in
constant use throughout the day.
